Whole Woman’s Health v. Smith

The Jewish Coalition for Religious Liberty filed an amicus brief in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, defending the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops’ right to keep its internal religious deliberations from being shared with abortion providers.

This case is very important for Jewish organizations for at least two reasons:

1. Private Jewish deliberations have historically been distorted by anti-Semites who wish to mock or otherwise discredit Judaism.

2. The speed with which the court demanded compliance was unreasonably short, and would be virtually impossible for many Jewish organizations to comply with.
